I’ve been following Gorod for a couple of years now and with their latest album, which was released last year titled Aethra, they have become a go to when I want to just get lost in the music. They are different from their peers, able to blend musical elements from the past like progressive jazz and layer it with a sinister death metal sound.
I was lucky to catch them live this month despite them having visa issues the first part of the Psycroptic and Cannanbis Corpse tour. And they more than delivered! With the opening notes, people in attendance didn’t know what to expect. Then by the end of the song, new fans were created and packed themselves up front to get in the action. Despite their short 30 minute set, Gorod gained a slew of new fans and satisfied my every itch for unique tech death. I look forward to catching them live again in the near future!
