Periphery at Alamo City Music Hall Nov 17, 2017 The Convergence Tour

Periphery have dominated the djent movement since their initial release.  Their latest release "Periphery III: Select Difficulty" solidifies that statement.  Watching them perform songs through their entire catalog made me giddy with joy and excitement.  This was also evident with the crowd singing along to all their songs.  From the playfulness displayed by all of its members to the crushing sound generated by these amazing musicians,  Periphery continue to lead the way for the Djent genre without question.  And its in capable, complex hands that will continue to see it grow in uncharted territory.

Animals As Leaders at Alamo City Music Hall San Antonio, TX Nov 17, 2017

There's no denying, Tosin Abasi is hands down a phenomenal guitar player.  Watching him play live was such a guitar nerds buffet filled with notes, melody and wizardry.  Backup by equally amazing musicians, Javier Reyes (guitar) and Matt Garstka (drums), Animals As Leaders are at the forefront of new wave of unparalleled gifted musicians paving new roads of uncharted territory.  Each new album release sees them pushing the boundaries of what can be accomplished with instrumental metal.  So, to watch them live, was truly a rewarding experience.
