Having just released a new album and touring Sevendust, LULLWATER have a hunger to be recognized. I remember first seeing them open up for FLYLEAF a few years back. Incidentally, when I let my wife know I was gonna see them again, she let me know that I was really annoying after getting a bit drunk with a couple of the guys from the band in Corpus Christi, TX- taking 3 shots in about 15 minutes. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity since my brother, who is in the Air Force, was on leave and also there taking shots right next to me. Luckily tho I’m not a mad drunk, I just think shit is funny; but it seems not to my wife and sister, who was also not amused by my antics.
Fast forward to this past March 3, 2019, (which I wouldn’t be drinking), I was getting to see Lullwater make a stop at Vibes Event Center in San Antonio, TX for the last show of the Sevendust & Tremonti Tour. For those that didn’t get their early enough, you totally missed out! Comparing their previous performance to tonight’s, the band has made leaps in musicianship and has developed a sound that hits all the right notes on the rock scale. Watching them perform left me with a satisfied feeling, as it did those witnessing some dam good rock music, that also blended elements of grunge in just the perfect amount. For anyone first being exposed to them, you could easily see nods in musical agreement and acceptance. Even tho they had a short set, as is usual for openers, Lullwater made sure they would not be easily forgotten. They continue to solidify themselves as ones to watch in the near future with a memorable performance and highly recommended new album VOODOO.
